Social Worker - Per Diem Social Worker OB/NICU Cohen Hospital Weekends Days

The per-diem position at Cohen Hospital provides weekend coverage for the OB and NICU units. The SW is an integral part of the Interdisciplinary team to move the patient seamlessly through the system and prepare for a safe discharge. The SW for Cohen specializes in working with families and provides comprehensive psychosocial assessment, including assessing for potential abuse or neglect. These are extremely vulnerable patient populations and weekend coverage is essential to ensure safe and appropriate discharges. The SW also provides supportive counseling, linkage to community agencies and support, and makes referrals to homecare agencies. The social worker also assesses for mental health and substance use treatment needs.
This is a weekend day shift, position.
Requires four weekend shifts each month and some holidays
Preferred Criteria
Experience as a Float Social Worker
Experience working with OB and NICU patients
Required Criteria
Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW)
New York State License as a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW)
At least one year of inpatient Medical/Surgical experience
