Summary of Position: CHOR YFS is looking for Youth Counselors at our Germantown Program. Demonstrate a variety of counseling, communication, and parenting skills, which support the formation of trusting, supportive relationships with the residents.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain safety and security of residents and facility.
- Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) to document resident behaviors, room conditions, visitation (in-house and community), and any applicable service.
- Supervises residents while following program policies and assuring compliance with BARJ principles.
- Collaboratively create residential behavioral goals in conjunction with clinical staff and case manager.
- Actively (via participation or close monitoring) supervises residents during recreational activities and provides instruction when necessary.
- Supervises residents during academic instruction, handling behavioral issues.
- Closely supervises residents while in the community, prioritizing community safety at all times.
- Implements behavior modification program (point system) in accordance with program policies, philosophy, and treatment plans.
- Overnight shift duties include the following: perform 15 minute checks on all residents, paperwork (make copies), and resident laundry, test any urine samples, and clean and organize areas throughout the building.
- Ensures safe evacuation of residents during emergencies and fire drills.
- Record reports (i.e. Incident Reports, ISP’s, etc) in a professional and timely manner.
- Plans and carries out rewards for assigned primary resident(s).
- Physically restrains residents (only when necessary in order to ensure safety) following passive restraint training in accordance with program policies.
- Oversees resident health and hygiene.
- Completes room and personal searches in accordance with program policies, documenting all according to program policies.
- Attends all required meetings and trainings.
- Maintains building cleanliness, performing light maintenance and building improvements (i.e. painting, etc.), primarily during overnight shifts.
- Transports clients in company vehicles, as needed.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
- Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. At least one year of experience or an internship experience with direct care of children/adolescents required; two years with an Associate’s Degree.
Schedule Availability
- Must be available for all shifts (AM, PM, and O/N).
Certificates and Licenses
- Valid driver’s license
