About the Job
El Concilio California is in search of a Youth Behavioral Health Outreach Worker within our Latino Behavioral Health Department. This position is responsible for promoting emotional health, mental health and well-being for youth (0 -15 years old), and transitional-aged youth (16 - 25 years old). The YBHOW will be scaffolding prevention-focused and community-based behavioral health education and activities. The YBHOW shall network and become familiar with other Community-Based Organizations or local agencies to link program participants with additional external resources. The YBHOW will assist in strategizing building protective factors to reduce the risk for developing mental health conditions, and link those who are experiencing early onset of mental illness to appropriate services. With the approval of Head of Service/Program Director, the YBHOW will attend outreach and tabling at community events to enhance program participation and recruitment. Occasionally, the YBHOW will be required to work on weekends to accommodate program needs or work special events coordinated by El Concilio California.
Employment Type: Full-Time; Non-Exempt
Requirements: Background Check, Health Records/Immunizations, Valid Driver's License.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with 1-3 years of experience in a related field is highly preferred; An Associates Degree in Psychology with 2-4 years of experience in a related field is highly preferred; A high school Diploma with 3-5 years of experience in a related field is required in lieu of a degree. Bilingual - Spanish is highly preferred.
