The Yard Specialist I is responsible for general maintenance and logistics of the Yard, as well as supporting the Rental, Parts, and Service Departments as needed.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Prepare tools for shipment to other stores and dealers.
- Properly dispose (check-in) all tools that are received for factory, vendors, and other locations.
- Assemble and disassemble work tools as required and ensure proper labeling of all tools.
- Maintain good order and cleanliness of the yard.
- Assist Rental, Parts, and Service Departments when instructed to do so.
- Greets customers in yard, helping direct them to office or unloading areas.
- Assists delivery drivers in loading and unloading work tools.
- Will be involved in washing and/or performing light maintenance on work tools.
- Has good working knowledge of all work tools.
- Makes final inspection of equipment before customer receives it, verifying inventory ID number, fuel level, and “rental ready” condition.
- Verifies fuel consumed and inspects all “detail” of equipment when returned.
- Installs “service tags” on equipment returned from rental.
- Moves “rental ready” equipment back to proper storage areas following routine maintenance procedures by service shop.
- Greets customers in yard, helping direct them to office or unloading areas.
- Assists customers and delivery drivers in loading and unloading rental equipment.
- Gives customers start/stop and general operating instructions on rental equipment.
- Will be involved in washing and/or performing light maintenance on rental equipment.

- Excellent interpersonal skills by demonstrating the ability to develop and maintain positive rapport with a diverse employee/customer population.
- Ability to accomplish assignments.
- Ability to work overtime as a job requirement dependent of department needs, as well as occasional weekend, holiday or evening work.
- Must be able to pass WorkSteps test for position.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training.
