We are currently seeking talented individuals for our Yard Coordinator - Power position!

Here is some of what you’ll do…

POSITION SUMMARY:   

Under the general direction of the Power Rental Manager & Shop Lead, this position exists to ensure the timely Return to Rent Ready (R2R) of all inbound returned rentals.  Includes all elements of the R2R process including prepping of outbound units scheduled for delivery.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Perform equipment fueling and inspections when equipment enters the yard. Prepare equipment for rental and staging. Will be asked to perform all yard functions at times including washing equipment.
2. Responsible to communicate inbound equipment statuses and conditions in an effort to achieve prompt rental invoicing.
3. Perform the following environmental inspections. Hazmat, hazwaste, storm water compliance, daily forklift inspections.
4. Anticipates rental order needs such as Cable Organization.
5. Keeps yard neat, clean, and organized. First line of communication on all yard traffic policies and adherence to speed limits.  
6. Assists Shop Lead with communicating to customers all Hawthorne safety practices and requirements.
7. Assists walk in and will call customers with rental needs such as unloading and unhitching equipment.
8. Will need to be able to operate all rental and yard equipment safely throughout the yard as needed.
9. Determines equipment condition upon return and reports any damage or repair work necessary.
10. Contributes to team effort by communicating actions, accomplishing related results as needed, and maintains a safe work environment.
11. On occasion may assist facilities maintenance and building maintenance needs.
12. Will need to operate and understand CAT Inspect or other types of digital photo or inspection related programs.
13. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
2. Must have a valid California Class "C" Driver's License with a clean driving record.  
3. Must be able to be Forklift Certified within 30 days of employment.
4. Must be computer literate.
5. Must have good communication skills and business etiquette.
6. Ability to multi-task.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Walking: Moves about on foot often up and down stairs.
2. Handling: Works with hands.
3. Lifting: Raises or lowers parts weighing up to 50lbs. Frequent exertion.
4. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
5. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
6. Standing: Remains in standing position, if required to perform various functions of the job.
7. Vision: Reads paperwork and records on the computer.
8. Talking: Communicates via telecommunications and in person.
9. Sitting: Sits at desk for minimal amount of time.
10. Climbing: Climbs on and off equipment.

ENVIRONMENTAL:          

1. Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
2. Temp/Weather: Works in both inside and outside all weather environments.
