Responsibilities:
· Perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and fluoroscopy, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
· Prepare patients for radiographic examinations, explaining procedures, positioning patients, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
· Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, ensuring proper calibration, quality control, and safety procedures are followed to produce high-quality images.
· Position and adjust imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images of specified body areas, adjusting technical factors such as exposure settings and image contrast as needed.
· Monitor patients’ vital signs and responses to imaging procedures, recognizing and responding to adverse reactions or complications promptly.
· Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare providers to review imaging results, identify abnormalities, and assist in patient care decisions.
· Document imaging procedures, patient information, and radiation exposure data accurately and completely, maintaining electronic medical records (EMRs) or radiology information systems (RIS).
· Adhere to radiation safety protocols and principles of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable), minimizing radiation exposure to patients, staff, and the public.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the radiology department, including imaging rooms, equipment, and supplies, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
· Adapt to different imaging modalities, patient populations, and healthcare settings as you travel to new locations, demonstrating flexibility and proficiency in your radiologic technology practice.
Qualifications:
· Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent from an accredited program.
· Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent certifying agency and endorsement applicable to the position (RT, CT, MRI, etc).
· State licensure or registration as a radiologic technologist, with no restrictions or disciplinary actions.
· Prior experience working as a radiologic technologist in diagnostic imaging settings, with proficiency in X-ray, CT, and fluoroscopy procedures.
· Strong knowledge of radiographic principles, anatomy, and pathology, with the ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
· Excellent patient care skills, including communication, positioning, and patient assessment, to ensure optimal imaging outcomes and patient satisfaction.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced radiology department.
· Willingness to travel to meet imaging department staffing needs.
· Commitment to upholding professional ethics, standards of practice, and regulatory compliance in radiologic technology.
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between healthcare facilities.
