Do you love building new strategic and data-driven businesses? Join the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) Elastic Disaster Recovery team as a Business Development Specialist!
As a Worldwide Specialist, you will own the growing adoption, utilization, and revenue for an AWS service(s) worldwide. You will gather customer and industry needs and partner with AWS product teams to innovate, develop, and deliver AWS offerings. WW Specialists are technically savvy resources responsible for identifying opportunities to innovate with customers, influencing the AWS product roadmap, and driving revenue for a specific AWS service(s). As a WW Specialist, you will own, develop, and implement technical go-to-market plans and sales plays for new or existing services, and drive customer and partner engagements by participating in AWS field enablement activities. You will also identify gaps in AWS products or feature sets based on customer insights and partner with internal product teams to win strategic customer workloads and drive business revenue.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record and background developing and executing GTM motions that deliver results at scale via sales teams, technical roles, and partners. In addition, they will possess a business and technical background that enables them to drive strategic engagements and build trust at all customer levels: CxO/VP, technical leaders and architects. We are looking for candidates who enjoy the challenge of wrestling ambiguity. This role offers lots of opportunity to experiment and turn pilots into scaled programs that impact internal teams, customers, and partners globally.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies targeted by geo and/or industry
- Nurture a strong partnership with the Sales organization ensuring they are well-equipped with the content, training, and knowledge of available resources to effectively sell AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery
- Develop relationships with consulting partners to collaborate in GTM motions and improve the customer experience
- Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings
- Find opportunities to collaborate with GTM motions and mechanisms on other teams to provide more value to our customers
- Drive research using quantitative and qualitative data to inform long term strategy

The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) works backwards from our customer's most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams are made up of specialists with deep technology and industry expertise who help carry their fields into the future. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience with technology transformation initiatives
- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- 5 years of technology domain expertise
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Sales or business development experience with disaster recovery solutions
- Experience with both commercial and public sector technology sales cycles
- Experience gathering customer input up to the VP level
- Technical aptitude to understand IT challenges experienced by customers and how that aligns with AWS' solutions
- Experience developing and executing GTM strategies at scale across hundreds of internal teams and thousands of customers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
