The Assembly Team Lead will ensure that manufacturing procedures are carried out to meet or exceed customers’ expectations and specification requirements. Preparations may include managing settings, carrying out tests and regulating the manufacturing processes to ensure that it runs flawlessly throughout the production run. To provide daily objectives, develop reward systems for productivity that motivate new hires and seasoned workers alike and communicate any issues with upper management to reach business goals effectively.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS
· Mastery level knowledge of all assigned machines and run machines as needed.
· Easily assists and trains team members on machines throughout the department and coaches existing team members.
· Easily transitions between job functions without hesitation.
· Can perform the quality checks per the Product Quality Sheet for a first piece sign off and train operators on these procedures.
· Able to read and understand the specifics of a Job Traveler and explain them to another team member.
· Pulls finished goods to the warehouse and prepares them for shipping.
· Verifies all documents and ensures the work order and finished goods match, without error.
· Ensures the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated area and supports safety efforts in the plant by escalating all safety hazards found or that have been brought to their attention immediately.
· Enforces all safety and processing procedures.
· Communicate to Management or Scheduling personnel any issues of concern which could prevent 100% on time delivery.
· Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with 5S protocols.
· Enable effective communications between management and operators.
· Knowledge of the Epicor MRP System for printing labels for packaging.
· Actively participate in Preventive Action and Root Cause Analysis processes.
· Performs quality checks as required.
· Performs scrap audits throughout the shift to ensure scrap procedures are being followed and the scrap is being separated to prevent contamination.
· Shows interest in learning supervisory roles and duties.
· Can act as a fill in supervisor.
