Goldberg Segalla, a dynamic and collaborative law firm with a national presence, seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to join its team as a Worker’s Compensation Paralegal in its Princeton or Newark offices. The paralegal will assist and provide a wide range of legal support to the supervising attorney(s); therefore, they will enhance the attorney’s effectiveness. These duties will include, but it is not limited to: maintaining files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, communicating with clients and other parties involve in the cases etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure
- Must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently, with minimal supervision
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- E-filing knowledge in preparation to file all types of discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions
- Knowledge of legal documents and terminology
- Knowledge of billing
- Knowledge of investigating the facts of a case
- Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations and articles
- Organize and maintain documents in the physical file and in the firm’s document Management software
- Gather, maintain current and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation
- Write reports to help attorneys prepare for trial
- Obtain affidavits and other formal documents/statements that may be used as evidence in court
- Assist lawyers during trials by handlings exhibits, taking notes or reviewing trial transcripts
- File exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents (after lawyer has reviewed and approved) with the court or opposing council
- Reach out to clients, witnesses, lawyers and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, or depositions.
EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree, Associates’ degree, or certificate degree in paralegal studies.
- 1-2 years of experience as a paralegal.
- Workers Compensation experience preferred, but not required.
