Goldberg Segalla, a dynamic and rapidly growing law firm with a national practice, seeks a highly motivated and organized Legal Assistant to provide Workers' Compensation attorneys that have a high volume of work with legal assistant support. This job is responsible for assisting with a wide range of legal tasks that enhance the attorneys’ effectiveness. Job duties will include, but it is not limited to, opening and closing files, completing budgets, drafting documents, calendaring deadlines, sending reports to clients and saving to the document management system. This position requires knowledge of law offices common practices and the legal field.

Job Description:
- Perform administrative duties, including proofreading and editing all materials for extreme accuracy and clarity.
- The ability to accurately type 65-75 words per minute
- Ensure accuracy of naming conventions for cases and proper saving of all electronic files related to assigned matters, experience with iManage is a plus.
- Exercise knowledge of legal documents and terminology
- Assist with calendar calls and deposition scheduling, as needed
- Experience with E-filing, all types of discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, motions, calendaring and docketing deadlines
Requirements/Skills:
- 3+ years experience in Workers' Compensation Defense practice is preferred.
- Prior experience in federal and state filing
- Knowledge of billing and adherence to client guidelines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Work, Excel and Powerpoint
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Positive attitude
Benefits:
This role offers an hourly salary and bonus opportunity. The hourly salary range for this position is $19.00 to $21.00. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job related factors permitted by law. This position also offers a full benefits package.
