The Department of Risk Management is recruiting for Workers'Compensation Adjusters who receive and review workers' compensation claims and reports and determine if occupational illness or injury is compensable; develop documentation for claim reports by reviewing and requesting substantiating reports from physicians, supervisors and witnesses; and explain to injured workers their benefits and legal rights under Workers' Compensation Laws.

These positions offer a lucrative compensation and benefits package that includes bi-annual step increases of 2.5% up to max step, and the benefits listed below:
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Promotion: Workers' Compensation Adjuster Trainees serve under trainee conditions and are eligible for promotion to Workers' Compensation Adjuster ($68,099.20 - $93,579.20 annual salary) with successful completion of a training program and receipt of a satisfactory work progress report. Incumbents must promote within (12) months or be terminated. A valid California Self Insurance Administrator Certificate is required and must be obtained within (12) months of hire.
Certificate: A valid California Self Insurance Administrator Certificate is required at the time of hire and must be maintained throughout employment. (Workers' Compensation Adjuster applicants only)
Travel: Travel throughout the county may be required. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.
