Workers Comp Case Manager - Cottage Health

About the Job
- Provides assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of workers' compensation cases requiring case management consistent with state workers' compensation laws. Acts as liaison between Workers' Compensation carrier, healthcare provider, hospital management, and employees to assist injured employees to reach maximum health and productivity through effective, expeditious medical case management. Collaborates in the design of controls for injury prevention and health surveillance related to actual and potential work hazards.
- Collaborates with the Workers' Compensation Third Party Administrator to identify opportunities for improvement in the program. Implements changes to ensure quality and cost effectiveness. Collaborates with treating physicians and other vendor partners as needed to identify and implement improvements.
- Provides guidance and support for employees and managers engaging in the Reasonable Accommodation process consistent with applicable state and federal laws regarding individuals with disabilities. Leads the Interactive Process to evaluate, plan and implement accommodations.
- Provides assistance in identifying and evaluating work restrictions and facilitates the interactive process to determine the organization's ability to reasonably accommodate restrictions for both work-related and non-work related injuries/illnesses. Ensures optimal functioning of the Transitional Alternate Work (TAW) program.
- Attends, participates, and represents Employee Health & Safety on various committees, task forces, and projects. Acts as backup to attend and represent Employee Health & Safety during regulatory surveys.
- In collaboration with and in the absence of the Employee Health & Safety Manager, functions as a resource for Employee Health & Safety clinical and administrative staff.
QUALIFICATIONS

LEVEL OF EDUCATION
Minimum: High School Diploma and some college courses.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Minimum: Current California Registered Nurse license. CPR certification.
Preferred: Certifications in occupational health and/or case management
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum: Ability to adapt to new software systems
Preferred: Previous experience with Occupational Health Software
YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum: Two years of occupational health nursing experience or equivalent.
Preferred: Three years of employer-based occupational health nursing experience
