Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Workers' Compensation Claimants Attorney to join our legal team. As a dedicated advocate for injured workers, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal representation to individuals filing workers' compensation claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of workers' compensation laws, excellent negotiation skills, and a passion for helping clients navigate the complexities of the claims process.
Responsibilities:
Case Management:
Manage a caseload of workers' compensation claims from initiation to resolution.
Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop effective case strategies.
Collaborate with support staff and other attorneys to ensure cases are progressing efficiently.
Client Advocacy:
Provide expert legal advice to clients regarding their rights and potential compensation.
Communicate with clients regularly to provide updates on case progress and address any concerns.
Advocate for clients during negotiations, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
Legal Representation:
Prepare and file legal documents, including petitions, motions, and appeals.
Represent clients in hearings and before administrative bodies.
Conduct depositions, interviews, and investigations to gather evidence in support of claims.
Negotiation and Settlement:
Negotiate favorable settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.
Assess the value of claims and determine appropriate settlement amounts.
Draft settlement agreements and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
Compliance and Legal Research:
Stay current with changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations.
Conduct legal research to support case strategies and provide informed advice.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
Proven experience in workers' compensation law, preferably representing claimants.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
