Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Workday Electronic Research Administration (ERA) Analyst to join our Information Technology team. This role will provide support for our Workday platform as it pertains to research administration, ensuring that Workdays tools meet the needs of our researchers, grant administrators, and compliance teams. The Workday ERA Analyst will be responsible for configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Workday Research Administration module and related tools, playing a vital role in enhancing our research and grants management capabilities.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Workday Electronic Research Administration (ERA) Analyst to join our Information Technology team. This role will provide support for our Workday platform as it pertains to research administration, ensuring that Workdays tools meet the needs of our researchers, grant administrators, and compliance teams. The Workday ERA Analyst will be responsible for configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Workday Research Administration module and related tools, playing a vital role in enhancing our research and grants management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- System Support and Configuration: Configure and maintain Workdays research administration functionalities, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and research workflows.
- Data Management: Manage data entry, validation, and reporting to support proposal development, awards tracking, and compliance monitoring.
- User Support: Serve as a primary contact for troubleshooting user issues related to research administration within Workday; provide guidance to research and grants staff in using Workday tools effectively.
- Reporting and Compliance: Generate reports for research administration and compliance purposes, ensuring data accuracy and meeting federal, state, and institutional regulations.
- Process Improvement: Analyze current workflows and identify opportunities to optimize research and grant management processes within Workday.
- Training and Documentation: Develop training materials, conduct workshops, and create system documentation to enhance user proficiency with Workdays ERA modules.
- Collaboration: Work closely with research, compliance, and IT teams to understand requirements and ensure Workdays functionality aligns with institutional research goals.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Business, Research Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in research administration or IT support within a research, academic, or healthcare setting; familiarity with Workday ERP is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Workday Research Administration or Grants Management modules, including configuration and data management; strong reporting and data analysis skills.
- Research Administration Knowledge: Understanding of research grants lifecycle, compliance regulations, and funding agency requirements.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into user-friendly terms.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data and workflows to develop efficient solutions and improve processes.
- Workday certifications, particularly in Research Administration or Grants Management.
- Experience in research administration within healthcare or academic institutions.
- Familiarity with federal funding agencies and regulations, such as NIH, NSF, or similar.
