Work Based Learning Program Data Center Operations Technician - ETP - Amazon

We are looking for Data Center Technicians to join our expanding team as part of our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP). Amazon has multiple WBLP trainee openings between April 2024 - June 2024. Trainees will participate in our 12-week work and training program in our Oregon facilities. This position requires the successful candidate report to a site location with the ability to work 40 hours/week and must be able to work 10 hour shifts as needed. NOTE: Amazon does not sponsor for immigration, including for H-1B, TN, and other non-immigrant visas, for this role. NOTE: A lump sum stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who need to relocate for this position. NOTE: If applying for positions in Oregon (OR) and Ohio (OH), these sites are within AWS GovCloud region. Effective May 15, 2017, logical access to the AWS GovCloud region will be restricted to Amazon employees who are U.S. Citizens (GovCloud may NOT be accessed from outside of the United States). Key job responsibilities - Ensure overall availability and reliability for our customers within our Data Centers - Install new rack equipment - Decommission existing racks - Repair and diagnose broken servers - Handle computer equipment and parts - Manage network gear during installation, decommissioning, and repair A day in the life All candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful. Physical Requirements: - Walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch. Work at heights and from ladders - Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds unassisted; and participate in group lifts for 36 pounds or more - Must be able to lift loads of up to 49 pounds and carry them for short distances - Continuously climb and descend stairs safely (applies to sites with stairs) - Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance - Push or pull heavy objects into position - Daily travel between sites may be required - Ability to stand for long periods of time About the team AWS is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment.
