About the Job
Performs a variety of assignments related to building electrical systems for Port Authority of Allegheny County d/b/a Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT). This includes installing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining and performing scheduled maintenance on building electrical systems, electrical equipment and lighting systems.
Salary $24.27 - $37.31 per hour
Essential Functions:
• Installs, maintains, repairs, cleans, inspects and tests electrical equipment in garages, shops, LRT stations and stops, including, but not limited to; motorized doors, washracks, hoists, air compressors, high pressure wash units, water heaters, interior and exterior lighting systems, shop machinery, paint booths, overhead cranes, fire alarm systems, intrusion alarm systems, switchgear, UPS systems and emergency generators.
• Performs preventive maintenance and monitors electrical systems.
• Troubleshoots, adjusts and tests electrical equipment, including periodic functional tests.
Job requirements include:
• Must successfully pass the appropriate aptitude tests.
• Must complete the apprentice training requirements for this position.
• Must possess a Class “C” PA Driver’s License.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid Class “B” PA Driver’s License within ninety (90) working days.
