LOCATION OF SERVICES: Supplier Personnel's primary work location will be Vacaville with occasional travel to other State Fund locations as needed.
Occasional travel to - Burbank, Glendale, Los Angeles, Monterey Park, Santa Ana, Oxnard, Riverside, Sacramento, Pleasanton, San Francisco
Supplier Personnel shall devote their full time and attention to State Fund while on the premises.
HOURS OF OPERATION: Supplier Personnel are authorized to be on-site during normal business hours and/or times authorized with security badge. Normal Business hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, Monday through Friday. Buildings are accessible from 6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Based upon operational needs and authorization from State Fund management, work hours may be extended from 6:30am to 6:00pm. Access to State Fund Facilitates on weekends, holidays, and after hours requires State Fund management approval.
HOLIDAYS: State Fund Offices are closed and the building(s) will be inaccessible, on the following holidays (or observed day if the actual day falls on a Saturday or Sunday): New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President's Day, Cesar Chavez Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. The specific date of each holiday for the current and future years is posted on the State Fund Website.
STATE FUND PROVIDED FACILITIES: State Fund will provide Supplier Personnel with suitable work space at the primary worksite location. Security badges will be issued for Supplier Personnel and must be in his/her possession at all times and visible while on site.
STATE FUND PROVIDED EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE: Building security key card, desktop computer or laptop computer and docking station, standard office software including e-mail, non-standard software (as needed & approved by management), telephone, cell phone and other general office equipment (as needed).
OTHER STATE FUND PROVIDED RESOURCES: Security badges will be issued for all Supplier Personnel and must be in their possession while on site. Temporary badges may be issued for Supplier Personnel on-site intermittently or if Supplier Personnel does not have their permanent security badge in possession.
Objective :
• Work to provide direct support and primary responsibility for State Fund's Active Directory and Windows Operating system environments through out all State Fund locations. These environments contain all State Fund's mission-critical, business-critical and general purpose applications.
• Provide Tier 3 support and lead troubleshooting or other efforts to quickly identify, resolve and verify all system functionality, in order to maximize uptime and minimize downtime. Scripting in various languages is required to extract information, provide information to dependent systems and automate tasks. Proactive measures and action are expected at all times, providing a 24x7 coverage for State Fund's mission-critical applications.
• Responsible for high level architectural design and planning with a vision of 3 to 5 years into the future. They will also be responsible for ensuring ongoing performance and the security of all Active Directory and Windows infrastructure.
DELIVERABLES OR TASKS
• Working with the Unit Manager, provide Senior Level Windows Server setup, administration, configurations, and automated implementations.
• Working with the Unit Manager, assist in planning, design, implementation, and operation of Windows and Virtual infrastructure projects and participate in the specification of business requirements and implementation plans.Assist in supporting State Fund's Microsoft Windows Server environments services and resources for optimal efficiency, functionality, security and management.
• Help support State Fund's VMWare Virtualization environments services and resources for optimal efficiency, functionality, security and management.
• Responsibility will include but not limited to re-architecturing the existing Microsoft Client, Group Policies, DNS and DHCP infrastructure.
• Will be assisting with server migrations between Client infrastructure, Flexpod and Physical to Virtual conversions
• Provide operational support and experience with managing the virtualized infrastructures.
• Participate in capacity planning and Disaster Recovery
• Help define, improve promote architecture and standards based on ITIL best practices
• Assist and support all development and troubleshoot complex application issues
• Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to other team resources and to customers
• Provide infrastructure design, implementation planning, deployment support, software strategy, system troubleshooting, performance engineering, and optimization and maintenance strategy.
• Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer and mentorship to State Fund internal engineering peers as required and lead technical staff responsibilities.
• Drive requirements and technical due-diligence and infrastructure design.
• Secures server systems by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
• Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• 7+ years related system engineering/Infrastructure and customer support experience.
• Extensive experience related to security in Microsoft Server 2008R2, 2012 and 2016
• 5+ years' experience in enterprise corporate infrastructure design, implementation and troubleshooting,
• 5+ years with both Microsoft Server 2008R2, 2012 and 2016.
• 5+ years' experience with VMWare 5.x and 6.x
• 5+ years' experience with Active Directory
• 5+ years supporting Datacenter co-located equipment.
• Extensive experience in support
• Experience with knowledge of Windows, Linux and Unix Operating systems
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, networking and security concepts
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to apply them during business impacting incidents.
• Capable of mentor others and lead by example.
