Job Description
Summary:
Expand your technical and professional skills in the growing clean and
renewable energy industry. Invenergy, North America's largest
privately-held wind power producer, is looking for students who want to
gain valuable and relevant industry experience this summer.
Internship Overview:
Invenergy Wind Interns will work out of a designated energy center and
will observe work of Invenergy technicians and learn how to perform
basic turbine operation and maintenance tasks. As an intern, you will
help to ensure the safe, compliant, and profitable operations of
existing Invenergy wind fleets. This is a hands-on internship that will
equip you with the necessary skills to begin an exciting career in the
wind industry!
Location:
Candidates must be available to work full-time at one of the following
sites: Wolverine Creek Energy Center located in Iona, ID.
Duration: June 2025 to August 2025
Preferred Majors:
- Wind Energy
- Electronics
- Industrial Maintenance
- Renewable Energy
- Sustainable Energy
- Wind Technician Certificate
Requirements:
- Targeted completion of a Certification Program or Associate's
degree between May 2024 and December 2027
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completed OSHA 10 training
- Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders
without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250
feet)
- Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds)
- Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear
worn when performing job related tasks
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer
visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Responsibilities:
- Assist technicians with routine mechanical and electrical
maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment
- Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety
equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
- Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of
a wind turbine generator and associated equipment
- Assist technicians in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical
faults; repair and/or replace components
- Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe
work environment
- Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled
overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance
periods
Details:
- Interns will be working at a designated energy center operated by
Invenergy
- Individuals receiving conditional offers of employment will be
subject to drug testing and must receive a negative result to begin
working for the company
- Relocation expenses and/or housing allowance will not be provided
Base Pay
20.00 USD Hourly
The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for
