Reports to: Shift Lead
Overview:
The Line Cook preparesfood and makes sure servers deliver each dish to customers in a timely manner. The Line Cook is responsible for that station's workflowand getting meals out on time. They oversee the cooking process from start tofinish and determine how much time each step requires.
Job Responsibilities:
·Sets up and stocks food items and necessarysupplies
·Prepares food items by cutting, chopping,mixing, and preparing sauces
·Cooks’ food items by grilling, frying, sauteing,and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards
·Maintains cleanliness and complies with foodsanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage
·Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at theend of shift

·Basicwritten and verbal communication skills

·Accuracyand speed in executing tasks
·Abilityto work as a team member
·Followsdirections and instructions
·Physicalstrength and stamina to spend long hours standing and performing repetitivemotions
·Flexibility,since hours for a line cook may vary and include weekends, evenings andholidays
Educationand Experience Requirements:
·High schooldiploma or GED
·Oneto two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook
·Certificateof culinary arts preferred
·Experiencewith various cooking methods and procedures
·Familiarwith industry best practices
QualitiesPreferred:

·Approachableby staff and members
·Teamplayer that will be able to help at other properties if needed for the growth ofthe whole company of Russell Lands
