Gpac just partnered with a rapidly growing manufacturing company that is seeking a 2nd Shift (2 PM to 10 PM) experienced Welding Produciton Supervisor. Position Summary: This position is responsible for overseeing production, product quality and safety within the assigned weld bay. The Welding Production Supervisor will communicate with welders and others within the organization to achieve all organizational goals in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(Including the following, however, additional duties may apply as required)
- Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
- Schedule production activities and maintain inventory to increase production and quality
- Supervise and provide leadership, coaching, guidance, training, and staff development
- Participate in interviews and selection of employees for assigned bay. Evaluate employee performance; counsel and discipline employees as necessary and monitors time and attendance
- Ensure departmental goals of safety, quality, productivity, utilization, cost and delivery are met
- Create and maintain atmosphere of trust and positive morale
- Participate in Continuous Improvement projects and Kaizen events
Education and Experience
- High school diploma required. Technical degree and/or welding certifications preferred
- Ability to read blueprints
- Must have knowledge and experience of metal fabrication and welding techniques (hardwire, metal-core, flux-core & sub-arc); and large open table set-ups
- Work well in a fast-paced environment, have excellent problem solving skills, and be able to multitask on a variety of projects
- Previous supervisory experience required
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing OR Six Sigma methodologies a plus
