Job Requirements
- The Weld Production Supervisor Sets and communicates goals, strategy and company deliverables to the responsible teams and departments
- Directs safety strategy and ensures that safety objectives are being met
- Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in planning, organizing, directing and running optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations, increasing production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Responsibility for production output, product quality and on-time shipping by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in the Weld Production Departments
- Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units
- Ensures company goals and strategies are being executed and achieved
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Responsibilities include safety, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensuring employees are following all safety rules and regulations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures all safety requirements are being met and are being followed according to rules and regulations
- Sets and communicates goals to meet company’s overall plan
- Work with all departments to ensure sales targets are being met
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations by increasing production output, product quality and on-time shipping
- Increase production, asset capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
- Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards
- Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Chief Operating Officer for action
- Coordinates production, distribution, warehousing, and sales in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by Chief Operating Officer
Job Qualifications
- Must have demonstrated production welding knowledge and experience
- Must have prior experience with production supervision and employee management
- Knowledge of job, techniques, skills, equipment, procedures, materials, etc.
- Punctuality and attendance
- Willingness and cooperativeness with co-workers and supervisors; ability to accept constructive criticism
- Ability to perform assigned tasks without direct supervision
- Follow quality environmental policies and have knowledge of AS9100 and IS14001
- Follow safety procedures, security protocol, and wear proper PPE
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B A) from four-year college or university; two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
