About the Position:
Allied Resources is looking for a Certified Welding Inspector for a 3 Month Turn Around based in the Greater Newark, NJ area. This position provides a competitive hourly rate and per diem.
Job Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the execution of a quality assurance program by collaborating with field teams, external inspectors, various departments, and contractors.
- Coordinate the timing of quality inspections to align with overall project timelines and schedules.
- Apply quality procedures, inspection protocols, and methods for controlling measurement tools and testing equipment.
- Conduct material inspections upon delivery to designated work areas.
- Perform inspections and witness testing activities as required for the discipline, ensuring compliance with project standards. Physical requirements include entering confined spaces, climbing, and wearing appropriate protective gear.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills to proactively address potential challenges that could hinder project progress. When issues arise, use effective problem-solving and decision-making strategies to find solutions.
- Maintain a professional and positive approach when interacting with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, field personnel, and team members.
- Act as the point of contact for customer inspectors, addressing all quality-related concerns and requirements.
- Supervise subcontractors to verify adherence to company standards, protocols, and applicable codes.
- Perform verifications on completed systems to confirm installation accuracy according to design specifications.
- Keep detailed records of work activities, inspections, and related documentation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Qualifications:
- Valid state-issued driver's license.
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector
- Five years of technical training and/or related experience required in quality assurance in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Codes
- Knowledge of the National Board Inspection Code.
