Summary:
Responsible for assisting the CTE Welding, Brazing, and Soldering instructor in the planning and implementation of educational activities in addition to supporting student-related day-to-day operations of the classroom.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support KRESA anti-bias, anti-racism principles, prioritizing equitable opportunity, program representation and support for all students
- Assist the CTE Welding, Brazing, and Soldering Instructor in the planning and implementation of educational activities.
- Supplement instruction by assisting the CTE Instructor with additional student supports (i.e. individual and small group instruction, drill activities, student accommodations, etc.).
- Provide and document instructional accommodations provided to support student success in the program (i.e. additional testing time, modified tests/assignments, reading assessments aloud, etc.).
- Assist with student supervision in lab and adherence to safety procedures and protocols.
- Meet with Student Engagement Coordinator monthly to report on student progress.
- Assess Welding, Brazing, and Soldering related skills including production coordination, safety, welding symbols, blueprint reading, oxyfuel cutting, physical characteristics and mechanical properties of metals, etc.
- Assist with work-based learning experiences
- Model 21st Century skills and encourage their use by students
- Assist with student leadership development and related activities
- Attend professional development and other meetings as appropriate and requested.
- If needed, communicate with students, parents, CTE staff, and local school staff.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain instructional/classroom records as requested/required.
- Maintain regular consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Maintain a professional personal appearance.

- Adhere to classroom health and safety procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by teacher/administration.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Recent and relevant work experience in Welding, Brazing, and Soldering
Strongly Preferred: Currently pursuing a technical education/degree as a Welder, Iron Worker, Metal Fabricator, etc., or working in the field.
Relevant industry certifications or credentials are beneficial.
Other Skill & Abilities:
Positive attitude toward high school students.
Safety mindset.
Excellent communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Physical Demands:
