Welder at Milton CAT

Milton CAT is seeking an experienced Welder to work in our Londonderry, NH location.

Pay Rate:  $32.00 – $37.00/hour (Line Boring experience up to $39.00/hour) based on location, education and experience.

• Perform all welding processes to fabricate and repair equipment / attachments, including but not limited to MiG, Tig, Stick, and Carbon Arc Gouging.  The majority of welding is Dual Shield Mig welding. 
• Line bore various components with remote and stationary equipment.
• Perform major repairs on sticks and booms including removal and installation.
• Set up equipment properly according to the function and application.
• Understand properties of various types of steel and other welding metals (including but not limited to hardness; brittleness; elongation; tensile, etc.) and can determine the best type for the repair.
• Complete layout from prints and drawings. In absence of prints or patterns the candidate must have the ability to create prints or patterns.
• Assists with general equipment repairs and component or attachment installation, as needed, including disassembling, assembling, removing and installing machine components.
• Actively cares and advocates safety at Milton CAT, adhering to all applicable safety policies, procedures and standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

• Must have 1+ year of Mig welding experience. 
• High school diploma or (GED) equivalent. Associates degree in a related field is preferred.
• Previous machining experience.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and schematics and have the ability to fabricate without prints.
• Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations
• Ability to operate various pieces of equipment to ensure repair results in functioning machine.
• Able to lift more than 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work overtime is required.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment.
