Description
Responsible for welding together metal components of products.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality welds using MIG, TIG and or Laser processes
- Use basic working knowledge of metals and characteristics of different alloys
- Read and understand blueprints and welding callouts in designs
- Use various measuring methods and tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and scales
- Operate other hand-welding equipment and flame-cutting equipment such as oxyacetylene torch or similar for cutting, heating, or brazing
- Conduct different assessments to verify critical weld requirements are met, such across-sectioning beads, measuring penetration, visual inspections, and dye penetrant tests
- Understand fixturing and use of tools to achieve proper fitment of parts prior to welding
- Proper use of all necessary safety protocols and personal protective equipment
- Communicate effectively to work in a team environment to ensure safe and efficient work and help drive continual improvement

- Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operatingand maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to draft routine reportsand correspondence.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure,
- using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio,
- and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
- instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
- situations.
- The employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to
- walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch,
- or crawl.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision,
- peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Environment:
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving
- mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

One element in our total compensation package is pay. The starting pay for this role is $17.50 to $30.00 per hour.
