About the Job
The primary focus of the Welder position is to safely fabricate and install as necessary all structural and misc. steel work in accordance with the design documents. This position requires several welding certifications outlined below as well as general construction knowledge. All general welding, fabricating and erection best practices and industry standard applications apply. This position is expected to work within a 90-mile radius of the city of Pittsburgh, and will be an employee of the Pittsburgh, PA office location.

What you'll do:
- Ability to safely operate all types of steel working equipment and hand tools.
- Knowledge of structural steel assemblies/details typically used in commercial building construction.
- Welding certificates in MIG, Fluxcore, and Stick Welding or have proven, proficient relevant experience in lieu of certificates.
- Able to read all drawings and associated design documents.
- Structural and misc. fabrication experience.
- Perform layout, cutting, and welding as specified by shop drawings for both structural and misc. steel operations.
- Knowledge of fabrication shop safety and best practices.
- Fabricate beams, columns, angles, plates, and connections per the design documents.
- Cutting experience to include torch, plasma, mechanical and grinding.
- Erection experience to include rigging, field welding and bolted assemblies as required, general structural/misc. erection skills and hand signal training.
- Safely operate under OSHA standards fall protection guidelines. Certified fall protection training required.
- Safely operate all equipment to perform daily erection activities including but not limited to man-lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, stud machines etc.
- Safely erect, maintain and dismantle scaffolding systems for daily construction activities.
- Safely load and unload building material deliveries.
- Maintain production quantities as outlined by the project schedule.
- Respond in an expeditious and timely manner to all work requests regarding fabrication and erection expertise.
- Assist in loading and unloading building material.
- Provide input on jobsite logistics, organization, layout, equipment, and manpower utilization.
- Clean project site/fabrication shop and maintain order with all tools and equipment.
- Have knowledge of foundations, building structures and construction sequencing.
- Mold, shape or form all metals.
- Perform clean-up procedures.
- Adhere to comprehensive project safety and security programs as defined in the company safety program in accordance with all applicable safety codes and regulations.
- Meet with the Safety Director and complete mandatory safety training prior to start of employment.
- Additional tasks as necessary and/or assigned.

Your success story:
Completion of apprentice/vocational program or an equivalent combination of training/education and a minimum of 5 years field or fabrication shop experience.
