Welder/Fabricator
The job summary:
Weld/fabricate parts based on blueprint requirements on time and with minimal waste.
While not inclusive, this position will provide support in the following areas of the Fabrication Department:
Weld/Fabricate: This position is 90-95% TIG welding and requires experience. Grind/detail welds and parts to match stock finish on prints. Straighten welded and fabricated parts to meet internal and customer requirements. Ability to set up machine for different material types and sizes. Demonstrated ability to layout, fit and weld plates, tubing and pipe. Performs fusion welding of sheet metal parts. Reads blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and specifications. Fabricates complex frame assemblies to print. Work within tolerances of +/- .010” to .020” frequently.
Record keeping: Completes all required recording and reporting forms and documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Documents actions by completing required logs. Performs inspection of related records for completion, accuracy and readability. Accurately counts, records, and resolves any quantity or completeness discrepancies prior to accepting responsibility. Accurately counts and records all quantities prior to forwarding to next workstation.
Verification of Product: Maintains quality standards by adhering to all quality assurance procedures and processes while completing job responsibilities.
Efficiency: Able to produce significant output with minimal wasted effort.
Attention To Detail: Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task. Identifies and addresses discrepancies and inconsistencies in a process, product, or situation.

Education: Required: High School diploma or GED. Preferred: Welding certificate/Associate Degree in Mechatronics, Machine Tool Technology, or related subject-area; or Trade School Certification in a related discipline or Apprenticeship. Required: Five (5) years’ experience as a Welder/Fabricator.
Computer Skills: Minimum ability to operate within a Windows environment, using email for communication. Usage of Data Collection software.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical data, schematics, prints and travelers is required. Effective interpersonal communication skills through a variety of methods is required.
Mathematical Skills: Basic Math Skills: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Metric to Standard Conversion, Fractions to Decimals, Geometry, Trigonometry.
Reasoning Ability: Requires the ability to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The ability to interpret a wide range of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form is an on-going requirement.
Physical Demands: This position requires standing for most of the day. Walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, handling, reaching, lifting, and pulling are necessary throughout the day as well.
Work Environment: The work environment for this position is that of an industrial machine shop/production facility. Employees may experience loud noises, (at varying levels), sharp edges (tooling and material), oil, and coolant throughout the workday.
