Job Overview
Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Welder- 4 for our night shift and will be located at our facility in Redmond, WA. This shifts schedule is 4 days per week, 10 hours per day. During training, your schedule will be Monday through Thursday, 5:30am to 4:00pm. After training (usually about two months), your schedule will be Monday through Thursday, 3:30pm to 2:00am.
This position is responsible for welding various metals of Company products, fixtures, test stands, industrial structures, tooling and related equipment, components and product parts by using available welding processes including manual fusion welding and by mechanized or automated processes, including laser, in-place-tube, to do longitudinal and circumferential welding of assemblies. Welder is responsible for setup, and that the weldments meets the external and internal requirements of the applicable weld specification.
We have approval to offer a sign-on bonus for this role.
In our Redmond, WA, site (Seattle area), we fabricate, assemble, and test chemical and electric thrusters, as well as small scale propulsion systems. Our electric propulsion systems enable a wide variety of missions from the exploration of our solar system to global communication and the surveillance of severe weather and wild fires.

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
Experience (Preferred):
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $25.48/hr MIN - $47.60hr MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. Essential Functions
- Perform welding in accordance with existing manufacturing instructions
- Set up and operate automatic inert gas arc welding machines to do such welding as longitudinal and circumferential welding of assemblies.
- Layout locations and make own setups as required.
- Weld Company products by certified processes maintaining critical alignment tolerances and improvising tooling and holding fixtures as required.
- Manually fusion weld various metals for fabrication of tooling, and maintenance, repair and assembly of plant machinery, equipment and buildings.
- Perform other manufacture tasks as assigned by supervisor to achieve production requirements
- Complete training and attend company meetings as required
Requirements
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- 6 + years with G.T.A.W. experience welding hard alloys (stainless steel, titanium, Inconel and / or steel).
- Experience welding duct assemblies (or similar) and controlling weld distortion and shrinkage.
- Must have a proven safety record and experience with PPE.
- Experience reading, comprehending and using planning and drawings to meet required specification requirements.
Experience (Preferred):
- Prior experience welding Rocket engines and or propulsion systems.
- Prior experience using mixed torch gases (95Ar / 5H2, Argon Helium mixes).
- Prior certification in In-Place-Tube, Automatic or Orbital Welding.
