Position: Welder (2nd Shift - 2 Openings)
Position Summary: The role involves preparing, welding, and finishing various products in accordance with customer specifications and drawings. The primary task is to perform TIG welding on aluminum or steel tanks and fittings, either manually or using robotic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble tubes manually or with fixtures as needed.
- Repair products by dismantling, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
- Maintain welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Execute finish grinding operations using both manual and powered tools.
- Set up fixtures and adjust welding parameters (amps, volts, etc.) as necessary.
- Possess a thorough understanding of wire and filler materials and gases for different steel alloys.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, or one year of relevant welding experience, preferably in a production setting. A Trade or V-Tech degree in a related field is advantageous.
- Expertise in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Familiarity with wire, filler materials, and gases for various alloys, as well as experience with fixturing and weld setup parameters.
- Successful completion of an internal welding assessment and ability to meet customer certification requirements as needed.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, with a focus on weld symbols.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
Computer Skills:
- Basic proficiency in entering critical data into PRMS (Production Resource Management System) with accuracy.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Certification as a welder.
Work Environment:
- The job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional exposure to vibration. The noise level in the work area is typically high.
