About the Job
Key responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain WebSphere application server software and related components
Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and optimal performance of the WebSphere infrastructure
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to WebSphere application server software and associated components
Collaborate with development teams to deploy and support applications on the WebSphere platform
Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard the WebSphere environment
Develop and maintain scripts for automation and monitoring of WebSphere components
Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures for the WebSphere infrastructure
Participate in capacity planning and upgrade projects for the WebSphere environment
Conduct performance tuning and optimization of WebSphere application server software
Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and end users
Document procedures, configurations, and changes related to the WebSphere environment
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in WebSphere technology and best practices
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of WebSphere with other systems
Participate in on-call support and readiness to address critical issues outside of business hours
Assist in evaluating and recommending new tools and technologies to enhance the WebSphere infrastructure
Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Proven work experience as a WebSphere Administrator or in a similar role
Strong expertise in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting WebSphere application server software
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell
Experience in performance monitoring and tuning of WebSphere infrastructure
Knowledge of security best practices and experience in implementing security measures for WebSphere
Ability to develop and maintain automation scripts for WebSphere administration tasks
Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery procedures for WebSphere environment
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
Solid understanding of capacity planning and upgrade projects for WebSphere infrastructure
Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with development and IT teams
Prior experience in documenting procedures, configurations, and changes in WebSphere environment
Up-to-date knowledge of WebSphere technology and industry best practices
Ability to provide on-call support and address critical issues outside of regular business hours
Certifications such as IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Application Server are a plus
