Northwood Club is a rapidly growing with increased membership. The Club was established in 1946. We are a premier country club located in Dallas, Texas, best known for hosting the 1952 U.S. Open. We just re-opened our newly renovated PGA Championship Golf Course in April. The club has a Distinguished Clubs of the World Emerald Designation for outstanding member service. Our staff consists of a wide range of professionals who are well recognized in areas of Tennis, Golf and Culinary.
This position reports toMember Relations, Clubhouse Manager and General Manager. The position ishourly and non exempt.
The general purpose of the position isto facilitate member awareness of Northwood Club news and events. To effectively communicate information regarding club services, programs and special offerings. Oversee all areas of communication including creating and distribution in house club postings, promotions, website, newsletters, magazine, programs and signage for all facilities.
Essential Duties:
- Ability to manage time and work under deadlines with 100% completion.
- Work with department managers to proof articles and assist with writing of articles for all media facets for Northwood Club.
- Creates and distributes Monday E-blast weekly.
- Creates and distributes member quarterly newsletter.
- Creates and distributes annual summer camp programs (print and electronically).
- Creates and works with manager and Publication Company to create bi-annual Collective magazine. Ensures everything is completed in time for print deadline.
- Maintains club website account, design and information posting. Update photos regularly.
- Work with Catering to maintain event calendar on website/app and reservation options when needed.
- Create promos for events for all Club media and displays. Have signage sent out to printers when needed.
- Maintain and order all signage throughout entire facilities when needed.
- Submits push notifications through Club phone app. On upcoming events.
- Responsible for taking photos of various club events for publications and online websites.
- Must be flexible with work schedule to attend various events to take photos and gather information for articles.
- Works with department managers to ensure planning and updates of events are communicated correctly and timely to needs of the members.
- Formats, prints and distributes menus for Food & Beverage outlets.
- Creates and posts announcements: new executive staff, construction, effects to the operation or hours of operation such as inclement weather, etc.
- Assist Director of Membership and Member Relations Manager with promotional packets for current and potential members.
- Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager/Supervisor.
- Attends staff meetings when required
Education/Experience: High school education; with up to two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Fluent English, speak, read and written word with proficient grammaris required. Effective communication to members, staff and between departments is required daily. Professional language and vocabulary will be used at all times.
Mathematical Skills: May be required: to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Reasoning Ability: May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one and two step instructions; to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Physical Demands: Frequently sits; uses hands to finger, feel or handle; reach with hands and arms. Occasionally stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, sits, talks or hears. Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds.
Certificates/Licenses: Must be at least 18 years of age. Marketing knowledge and experience preferred.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
- Ability to read, writeand speak English required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the employee may be required to communicate with English speaking members or co-workers, the manuals for equipment the employee may use are in English).
- Excellentknowledge and use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Publisher, Paint)
- Knowledge and use of Northstar operating system a plus but not required.
- Ability to take photos and understanding of high resolution photos and requirements.
- Understands and is up to date with latest trends and use of social media applications.
