WEB Application Testing
Any of Oracle, Sybase, SQL server, DB2 skills
Strong in SQL Queries
UNIX Skills
Testing and Quality Assurance processes and techniques
Multi-tasking skills
Effectively work in a collaborative environment
Efficiently work with leadership, analysts, dev team and business team on an ongoing basis
Education/ Experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
- 3 years of systems development and/or business experience required.
- 1 year of quality assurance experience required.
- Familiarity with different types of testing tools and their uses.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Software Testing applications.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Methodology.
- Understanding of databases and services including the ability to programmatically interact with data formats.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of Facets data Model preferred
Health Care experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of Facets onlines and Facets batch process preferred
Knowledge of XML, HIPAA EDI Transactions
Experience in IBM Rational Tools Suite preferred 1.e Performance tester, Functional Tester, Clear Quest
General Duties:
Review FDD, TDDs to create test requirements, test cases and test scripts
Create SIT/UAT test plan and test cases
Create/Update test scenarios and test conditions
Stage SIT/UAT test data as needed to support test conditions
Create SIT and E2E execution test plans
Review Test results and follow defect management process as needed
Ability to work with cross functional teams
Provide daily status to Test Lead
General Description
Responsible for verifying and validating whether products or services meet specified requirements; involved in all phases of the QA process. They implement quality assurance objectives and processes, monitor and evaluate testing results against the predetermined objectives, and apply recommended actions for improvements. Quality control activities may include functional and non-functional testing such as regression, system, integration, security and performance testing.
QA professionals are responsible for defining the test environment used by the organization. They interact with all members of the project team including architects, business analysts, systems analysts and project managers. They also work with the development team to successfully integrate testing into each development phase. Other responsibilities include developing and executing formal test plans, writing and executing test cases/scripts, and validating results. They define and track quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status. QA professionals communicate testing results and provide recommendations based on issues discovered. They also monitor, evaluate and make recommendations on QA tasks within enterprise-wide processes such as change and release management.
Work Complexity
- Works on multiple test programs/systems as a team member.
- Considered a subject matter expert for a single program/system.
- Works on projects of moderate to high complexity within one or more development environments.
