**Description**
The Capital Area Division (CAD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) has an outstanding opportunity for several exceptional **Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Analysts** with experience identifying, characterizing, and assessing global WMD- and CBRN-related threats, developments, and trends. This position provides Defense, Service, and Interagency audiences with timely and accurate assessments of adversary WMD programs, strategic threats, and weapons-related S&T developments. This position routinely contributes to Defense Intelligence Enterprise deliverables, including but not limited to foundational assessments, warning reports, technical briefings, and other analytic documents. This position also works together with Special Operations Community staffs to transition adversary WMD- and proliferation-related threat characterizations into planning and operational deliverables. The WMD Analyst provides guidance to less experienced staff, reviews the work of others, authoritatively contributes to multi-functional analytic teams, and maintains currency in understanding relevant WMD-related technologies, trends, and threats. The position is expected to understand and articulate official government analytic positions during customer engagements and represent Defense Intelligence Enterprise analytic units as directed.
This position is contingent upon contract funding with an anticipated start date in October 2024.

**Required Qualifications:**
+ Master's degree with 8 years of experience conducting intelligence cycle functions and/or creating intelligence reports, assessments, or deliverables OR a Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience doing the same
+ Demonstrate current familiarity - experience within the last two years - identifying, assessing, and developing products associated with adversary WMD programs and/or developments
+ Working familiarity with established Intelligence Community directives, standards, and tradecraft documents
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively within or lead a team of peers, as well as excellent interpersonal and communications skills
+ Ability to communicate complex analyses at a level comprehensible to diverse military audiences and senior-level government representatives
+ Ability to clearly express in writing technical analysis results and program characterizations
+ Demonstrated knowledge of state nuclear, biological, and/or chemical (NBC) programs, strategic weapons developments, and WMD-related proliferation and procurement
+ Practical understanding of the technical requirements - both established and improvised - necessary to weaponize NBC materials
+ Familiarity with US Special Operations Community roles, responsibilities, plans, missions, and activities and experience turning threat characterizations and information into tangible SOF plans, operations, and exercises
+ Understanding of global technology control, arms-control, nonproliferation, and threat reduction efforts associated with combating WMD
+ Experience characterizing and assessing consequence management variables associated with NBC weapon use and CBRN contaminated environments
+ Active TS with SCI eligibility clearance PLUS ability and willingness to take and pass a CI polygraph
**Desired Qualifications:**
+ Master's degree with 12 years of experience conducting intelligence cycle functions and/or creating intelligence reports, assessments, or deliverables OR a Bachelor's degree with 17 years of experience doing the same
+ Military or defense-related experience and working familiarity with strategies, policies, and plans that enable defense against CBRN threats and prevent the proliferation of WMD
+ Understanding of the Defense Intelligence Enterprise, DIA, and Service intelligence production centers
+ Experience participating in and leading interagency CWMD, nuclear security, and/or counterproliferation forums and working groups
+ Experience effectively devising, utilizing, and communicating methodological approaches to complex problem sets
+ Familiarity working with counterproliferation-related and S&T analytic centers within the DOD, IC and/or Interagency
