As a Wealth Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our clients through life’s most complex financial decisions. You are responsible for managing and enhancing client relationships, ensuring an exceptional client experience and retention. This role involves maintaining long-term, trusted relationships with clients to foster both satisfaction and loyalty. Additionally, it involves identifying opportunities to grow the firm’s client base by actively acquiring new leads from clients and centers of influence and effectively converting these prospects into new clients to support the firm’s continuous growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management and Retention:
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for clients, ensuring an exceptional client experience and fostering long-term relationships.
- Focus on client retention by proactively addressing client needs, responding to inquiries, and maintaining an ongoing connection through strategic outreach during key life events and annual relationship-building meetings.
- Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities for service improvements, handle inquiries, and provide a high-touch experience that drives loyalty and satisfaction.
- Manage and strengthen the most valuable relationships of the firm, reinforcing the firm-to-family bond.
- The Wealth Advisor is the teammate primarily responsible for cross-selling services so that every family or business we serve receives maximum value from Gatewood.
- Business Development and Lead Generation:
- Actively acquire new leads from client and centers of influence, ensuring the firm’s enduring growth.
- Develop and implement strategies to generate new business opportunities from various lead sources, including client referrals, centers of influence (attorneys, CPAs, other professionals), networking events, and marketing-driven campaigns.
- Engage in targeted outreach, prospecting, and follow-up efforts to create a consistent pipeline of new leads.
- Build relationships with and qualify prospects through initial meetings, goals assessments, and solutions meetings to effectively convert them into clients of the firm.
- Develop and execute strategies for nurturing relationships with prospects, staying top of mind through periodic touchpoints, such as newsletters, events, or educational content.
- Client Experience:
- Ensure a seamless transition for new clients to their designated Client Care team, which includes the Wealth Advisor, a Wealth Planner, and Wealth Coordinator team.
- Support clients during key life events by mobilizing the appropriate resources and specialists to manage complex financial decisions.
- Proactively identify and address any issues, ensuring clients are satisfied and their expectations are met.
- Team Collaboration and Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Work closely with the Client Care teams to ensure the Firm-to-Family client relationship remains strong and ongoing after the initial planning stages.
- Wealth Advisors are on call for client meetings in which their experience and expertise are warranted.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance business development efforts and increase the firm’s visibility and client base.
- Coordinate with other team members, including the client care teams and support staff, to ensure clients’ needs are consistently met and expectations exceeded.
- Strategic Initiatives and Operational Contributions:
- Play an active role in shaping the client experience and firm’s growth strategies through feedback, collaboration, and contributing to key operational or strategic projects.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to improve skills in communication, sales, business development, industry knowledge, and leadership capabilities.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Proven success in relationship management and business development, ideally within a wealth management or financial services context.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with both clients and centers of influence.
- Experience identifying, prospecting, and generating new business from a variety of lead-generation channels.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple client relationships while maintaining high levels of service.
- A client-first attitude with an emphasis on delivering an exceptional client experience.
- A Series 65 is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) designation or working towards obtaining the certification, or something similar.
- Additional certifications (e.g., CFA, ChFC, CPA, CLU) or masters’ degrees are a plus.
- 4-6 years of experience in wealth advisory, business development, or similar financial services role.
- Experience working in a team-based environment, coordinating across multiple functions (i.e., with Wealth Planners and Wealth Coordinators).
