Wayside Section Manager (SDA) - Public Health Seattle & King County

King County’s Metro Transit Department has an exciting opportunity for a temporary Section Manager in Wayside Maintenance. This senior leader will report to Rail’s Senior Activation and System Expansion Manager and will work in partnership with employees, colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure that Metro provides world-class service while advancing the following within Rail:

• Culture of Health, safety, belonging and wellbeing of our workforce
• Safe and effective Rail Operations
• Effective expansion of our system
• Strong and effective relationships with Sound Transit, our partner in Rail Service Delivery

The SDA Wayside Section Manager is responsible for managing programs and staff within the Wayside Section:

• Oversee the business strategy, planning, operations, and service delivery of the following workgroups: Power (Traction Power and Rail Facilities Electricians), Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Signals & Communications, Track and Right of Way, and Wayside Maintenance Planner.
• Oversee recruitment, development, engagement, and retention of employees in the Wayside Section.
• Develop, implement, and oversee a long-term business and employee strategy for the Wayside Section to support the Rail’s success, including strategic initiatives, budget and finance, communication, and section processes and procedures.
• Build and maintain partnerships and relationships with Sound Transit as well as throughout the Wayside Section, Rail Division, Metro Transit Department, King County, and with any other key partners.
• Oversee safety strategy for Wayside Section with continued development safe high voltage work and other passenger delivery systems.
