Duties, Responsibilities & Other:- Responsible for managing a team of engineers, and designers to develop engineering designs and project delivery for public-sector and private-sector clients. Types of water resources projects include assessment / design of drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, flood mitigation, stabilization, restoration, hydrologic and hydraulic studies for floodplain, drainage improvements, climate resiliency, flooding, dam breach analysis, stabilization, restoration.
- Responsible for the management of projects, development of technical scope and fee, overseeing the project team, and ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget and for quality reviews for deliverables.
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from preliminary assessments, development of conceptual plans and engineering plans, stakeholder coordination, permit documentation, and construction level design plans.
- Prepare project reports and submittals, work with support staff on project setup, billing, and closeout.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ability to work with a diverse team to deliver work.
- Mentor junior engineers and support staff in building technical skills and overall career development.
- Communicate and collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, scope, and objectives.
- Partner with the Practice Leader on development of technical and price proposals, managing client relationships.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for future collaboration.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil engineering or related engineering field.
- Experience in project management and business development within the past 2-4 years.
- Experience with ArcGIS and HEC-RAS, MicroStation/AutoCAD, InRoads/OpenRoads preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex engineering concepts to diverse audiences.
- Excellent organizational abilities, with a demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, hybrid office/remote environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 - 12 years of professional experience.
- Appropriate professional certification preferred.
