Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is seeking a **Water Resources Engineer** to join the Surface Water Group in Salt Lake City (Murray), Utah office. As a Water Resources Engineer, you will act as a technical lead of water resources projects related to but not limited H&H modeling and floodplain mapping, stormwater modeling, flood control projects, site development, and transportation-related drainage design. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Develop and analyze one-dimensional and two-dimensional floodplain modeling using software applications like HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and/or SRH2D. + Efficiently work with GIS software in support of floodplain modeling and mapping. + Prepare project reports, engineering calculations and develop drawings and visual aids + Assist in the development of scopes of work and budgets for water resources projects or for water resources components of larger projects. + Mentoring, leading, and training junior level staff + Reviewing technical work of others + Communicate and work with other project team members to provide quality service to clients to ensure that all documentation conforms to client/company standards. + Collaborate with other teams, departments or business lines across AECOM. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline and 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education + Professional Engineering License (PE) **Preferred Qualifications:** + Utah PE License or ability to obtain within 1 year. + 8+ years of relevant water resource related experience + 8+ years of experience with hydrologic and hydraulic models (HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS) + Demonstrated proficiency in GIS and CADD software + Knowledge of civil engineering design principles + Experience and familiarity with the following programs: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D/2D, SRH-2D, xpSWMM, Infoworks ICM, HydroCAD, ArcGIS, CADD + Experience with Python, R, or other programming languages. **Additional Information** Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
