Job Summary
This position is responsible to read, install and repair water meters, and assist with sewer collection and water distribution repairs and maintenance. The work is performed under the supervision of the Water and Sewer Utilities Superintendent with direction from the Water & Sewer Maintenance Foreman.

Minimum Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years' responsible work experience in public works, utilities, or related field; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
- A valid Illinois Class B commercial driver's license with air brakes endorsement and an acceptable driving record for eligibility of City coverage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Days/Hours For Position
Regularly scheduled work days and hours for this position are: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm. The position also requires after hours call ins via an overtime rotation list.
Salary
Starting pay rate is $23.75 per hour in accordance with the Local 150 Union contract that is currently in negotiations. This this rate will more than likely change. Position includes eligibility for full benefits package of group health insurance, benefit time, and IMRF retirement plan.
