Where would you step in?
As a valuable member of our One team, you will serve as an Engineering Technician – Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator primarily providing operation, maintenance, and testing services for wastewater treatment plants/systems and provide technical support to project managers and other staff.

We provide planning, design, and construction phase services for the construction of new, or improvements to existing, conveyance systems, treatment plants, pump stations, and other water infrastructure. We assist our clients with capital improvement plans, hydraulic modeling services, and implementing asset management programs while also undertaking study projects including Long Term CSO Control Plans, Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plans, Integrated Water Resource Management Plans, and Sewer System Evaluation Studies.
What will you be doing?
As one of Tighe & Bond’s Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators, you will ensure the proper operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities by following established procedures, addressing safety or maintenance issues, and adjusting system components as needed to maintain compliance with customer, regulatory, and permit requirements. Your responsibilities include conducting sampling and field analyses, maintaining accurate records, submitting required reports, and ensuring facility safety and cleanliness. You will also respond promptly to alarms when on call, assist other operators, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in plant operations. Additional duties may be assigned to support the efficient functioning of the facility. You will be part of an on-call rotation requiring night and weekend coverage as needed.
What does a Engineering Technician 2 need?
Must have and maintain a valid Massachusetts Wastewater Treatment Operators License (minimum Grade 4) and have ability to prioritize and work under required schedules. Must have valid driver’s license and pass motor vehicle insurance check for ability to drive Tighe & Bond vehicles. Proficient mathematical skills and knowledge of local regulatory requirements are required.

Engineering Technician salaries are determined based on internal equity and market analysis and will vary based on the candidate’s skill and experience; the salary range for this position is $60,021 - $93,894.
