Job Summary: Sales Waste Specialist
Outside Sales Representative plays a crucial role in enhancing shareholder value through a consultative retention-based sales approach for our commercial customers and brokers.
This position requires a combination of hunting for new business opportunities and nurturing existing accounts for retention. The primary focus is on generating new revenue through cold calling and prospecting while also retaining current customers through a consultative selling approach. Having existing location and geographical knowledge will play a critical roll in the success of the Outside Sales Representative.
The role involves managing existing business relationships, developing retention strategies, negotiating contracts, and growing revenues from existing customers to maintain a positive business performance in the commercial sector.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Outside Sales Representative
- Customer interaction (external and internal), response & follow-up.
- Serve as the lead point of contact for customer account management matters, ensuring high customer satisfaction and building strong customer relationships.
- Respond to requests for proposals from service brokers and provide a positive experience to build brand loyalty.
- Align products and services with customer needs, propose compliant solutions, and increase account penetration through consultative selling.
- Negotiate, update, and renew customer service agreements to maximize profits.
- Resolve challenging customer requests and collaborate with internal teams to address customer escalations.
- Communicate rates, charges, and service strategies effectively.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify growth opportunities within the territory.
- Perform administrative tasks and use sales productivity software accurately.
- Prepare reports as needed and handle general administrative duties.
- Travel within area to customer locations for In-person sales calls.
Qualifications: Outside Sales Representative
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
- Associates in Business
- Bachelors in Business (Preferred)
- Experience: 5-9 years of business-to-business account management experience.
- Experience: 3-5 Years Waste Solutions Sales Background.
- Other Skills: Ability to build relationships, multitask, communicate effectively, adapt to change, negotiate, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Recycling/Waste experience 3-5 years
- Demonstrated successful B2B sales experience 3-5 years
Work Environment: Outside Sales Representative
- Motor coordination and physical effort may be required.
- Work setting includes an office and driving in the service area.
- In office & In Territory for outside Sales calls on current and potential accounts.
