CLASS TITLE: WAREHOUSE WORKER

BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor receive, inspect, pack, unpack, store and deliver warehouse stock, supplies and equipment; pick up and deliver mail, food and money; fill warehouse requisitions and perform periodic inventories.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Receive, inspect, unpack, pack, load, issue, store and deliver materials, supplies and equipment, including perishable goods.
Receive and inspect items received for damages and conformity to purchase order specifications; report shortages, damages or other discrepancies to supervisor.
Receive and fill requisitions; pack and prepare order for delivery; deliver goods to District sites and unload according to established schedule and procedures.
Collect and deliver mail, money, materials and supplies; sort mail according to established procedures.
Deliver State textbooks and audio visual equipment from the IMC to individual school sites.
Maintain perishable storage, checking for temperature and protection from damage.
Perform periodic warehouse inventories and maintain records of deliveries and pickups.
Assist in the layout, rotation and movement of stores; shelve, arrange and label stock.
Respond to questions and issues from schools and the District Office relating to supplies, materials and Warehouse operations.
Maintain the warehouse in a clean and orderly condition.
Operate a forklift, truck, electric pallet jack and related warehouse equipment.
Perform routine maintenance and safety checks to delivery vehicles, adding air, gas and other fluids as needed.
Observe health and safety regulations.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Warehousing and stock control methods and procedures.
Methods of receiving, inspecting and issuing materials.
Recordkeeping techniques.
Methods, practices and terminology used in warehouse operations.
District locations and related travel times.
Proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies.
Health and safety regulations.
ABILITY TO:
Receive, issue, store and return warehouse stock and supplies.
Organize storage in a warehouse.
Lift, move, sort and store objects.
Add, subtract, multiply and divide quickly and accurately.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Operate a variety of warehouse equipment and machinery.
Maintain accurate records of stock transactions.
Work cooperatively with others.
Lift objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and one year of shopping, receiving, delivery and stock issuance experience.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California driver’s license, evidence of appropriate automobile insurance based DMV regulations and insurable by the District liability insurance carrier.
ServSafe Certification required.
