Responsibilities:
* Supervise the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, and shipping parts and supplies.
* Develop and implement warehouse safety and security programs and activities.
* Monitor air or surface pickup, delivery, or distribution of parts and supplies.
* Interview, select, and train warehouse and supervisory personnel.
* Confer with department heads to coordinate warehouse activities.
* Respond to customers' or shippers' questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services.
* Inspect physical conditions of warehouses, vehicle fleets and equipment, and order testing, maintenance, repair, or replacement as necessary.
* Develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials.
* Listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products, or personnel.
* Direct and supervise employees engaged in inventory-taking, reconciling inventory, or performing specific tasks such as loading or unloading unusually large items.
* Provide staff with assistance in performing difficult or complicated duties.
* Provide assistance or direction to stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers when required.
* Plan and prepare work schedules, and assign employees to specific duties.
* Examine products purchased for resale or received for storage to determine product condition.
* Dispose of damaged or defective items, or return them to vendors.
* Any and all duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* High school education or GED equivalent is required
* Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and other business software applications is required.
* Prior experience working in a warehousing facility is required. Management experience preferred.
* Experience with warehouse management software preferred.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, bend and stoop to perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
