Warehouse Supervisor
This position reports to the Supply Chain Director.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee warehouse inventory and staff.
- Hires and manages warehouse associates.
- Assigns workloads and daily tasks to warehouse associates.
- Follows the standard operation procedures (SOP).
- Develops and improves warehouse processes and procedures.
- Orders new supplies and equipment (with proper approvals).
- Escalates issues to managers and recommends potential solutions.
- Ensures the team adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
- Ensure facility Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s) goals are met and/or exceeded.
- Drives and efficient and motivated workforce by providing effective coaching, feedback and encouragement.
- Measures and reports KPI’s and operational metrics to the Warehouse Manager when needed.
- Maintains records, reporting relevant information and preparing any necessary documentation.
- Performs daily inspections of warehouse grounds.
- Effectively and efficiently communicates with other departments and customers.
- Received and records new inventory as it is delivered; inspects and stores it according to policy.
- Conducts physical inventory, compares results to computerized inventory, and reconciles any difference.
- Replenishes stock and inventory as needed.
- Ensures that all stock is stored in correct locations in the warehouse.
- Transfers inventory to trucks for delivery in a timely manner and according to schedule.
- Schedules materials being transferred to and from warehouse; coordinates transfer of inventory between departments.
- Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to develop strategic plans and procedures to increase the efficiency of warehouse practices.
- Monitors expenditures; implements corrective actions if needed.
- Enforces operating instructions and safety policies.
- Resolves routine equipment issues.
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Critical thinking ability and proactive approach to problem solving.
- Associate Degree in Business or similar discipline preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in distribution or manufacturing required.
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management.
- Time management skills and the ability to effectively delegate.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem solving aptitude by accurately defining, analyzing, breaking down and solving complex problems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficient with data entry and inventory software and systems.
- Team building qualities.
