Material Handler
Description:
Position: Material Handler. Reports to the Logistics Manager.
Receives materials and supplies by verifying PO information on ERP - PO number, QTY, etc.
Documents materials receipts and put away to the appropriate storage location.
Locate material(s) by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
Deliver production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution.
Locate and pack materials for shipping.
Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.
Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in
stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
Operates forklifts (certified a plus), pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docks.
Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.
Maintain warehouse operation area clean and orderly.
Learn and adhere to workplace safety regulations.
Requirements:
2 years of related warehouse experience (shipping and receiving, kitting, packing)
ERP experience, SAP big advantage.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and highly regulated with adaptability to changing priorities.
Strong team player.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs unassisted.
Must be able to visually distinguish colors
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Must have a valid driver's license
Manufacturing General Physical Requirements
*Work different shifts and/or work weekends, including overtime.
* Work in hot and/or cold environments
* Work around heavy equipment or manufacturing machinery
* Wear safety equipment such as safety glasses, sleeves, earplugs and steel-toed shoes
* Stand or walk for long periods of time each day
* Frequently bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 40 pounds
* Work in tight or closed in spaces
* Regularly climb ladder/man lift/stairs/crawl under vehicles if necessary
* Strong verbal communication skills
* Ability to work in a team environment
Bonus Qualifications:
Certified forklift operator
- Pay Rate: $20/hr
- Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; 2 years of related warehouse experience (shipping and receiving, kitting, packing)
- Responsibilities: Maintaining inventory; see req for additional details.
- Schedule: 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday), 10-hour shifts. Friday is a backup day if needed.
- Shift Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 10.5 hours
- Breaks: 1 x 30-minute lunch, 2 x 15-minute breaks
- Note: Employees are required to bring their lunch.
