The Warehouse Specialist will verify materials and merchandise against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations and warehouses.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the facility’s storage plan and Installation Logistics Systems.
- Verify materials and merchandise against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
- Route materials to proper storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with the prescribed storage methods.
- Inventory control and analysis of all materials; rearranging and tracking inventory of stored materials; examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage; removing material from facility and preparing it for shipment.
- Will operate hand and power industrial trucks (6k forklifts and stock pickers) in performing warehousing duties.
- Perform all duties in an effective and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, safe, and neat warehouse environment.
- Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials.
- Examine stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage,
- Remove material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
- Manually load and unload various materials and supplies from transporting devices;
- Unpack, shelve, or place materials or supplies in proper locations
- Transport materials and/or supplies by handcart, car, or carts.
- Responsible for proper accounting of materials or supplies loaded or unloaded from transporting devices and maintain accurate documents and records of deliveries and receipts.
- Responsible for the daily routine distribution of inter-department mail and documents.
- Ensure that all tasks are performed safely. Wearing safety items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) e.g. gloves, safety shoes, protective eyewear, hearing protection, and other items such as aprons or outerwear as appropriate.
- Provide courteous, efficient, and timely service. Strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty including nights, week-ends, and holidays.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Possess current Drivers License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
