Responsible for greeting and engaging with customers when equipment is returned. If the customer has reported a problem or difficulty with the equipment ask question to get an understanding of the problem. Clean the equipment and resolve minor issues that do not require a mechanic. Have the mechanic perform a quick quality assurance look at the equipment so that it can be green tagged. This role is critical in maintaining customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Reception:
o Greet customers upon return of rented equipment.
o Inspect returned equipment for damage, cleanliness, customer comments on equipment performance and completeness.
2. Inspection and Assessment:
o Conduct thorough inspections of all returned items, checking for wear and tear or any operational issues.
o Document any damages or discrepancies and report them to the service desk.
o If the problem is minor and on our quick fix list fix it and green tag it.
o If the problem requires a mechanic write a complete description on the tag and advise the mechanics.
o Advise the service desk on the status of the equipment.
3. Inventory Management:
o Assist in restocking and organizing equipment in the rental yard or storage area.
o Return all equipment and event material to the place it is supposed to be located, don't just dump it somewhere for someone else to move.
o Other tasks as required.
4. Customer Interaction:
o Provide friendly and informative customer service during the check-in process.
o Address any customer questions or concerns regarding equipment or rental agreements. Make note of any issues.
5. Processing Transactions:
o Advise the service desk of any rental details that are needed such as hours so that they can process rental returns in the company's rental management system. Advise the of any potential billing for any damages or late fees as necessary.
6. Cleaning and Maintenance:
o Ensure that all returned equipment is cleaned and prepared for the next rental.
o Perform basic maintenance checks and coordinate repairs with the maintenance team as needed.
7. Documentation:
o Maintain accurate records of returned equipment, including dating and detailing any issues on the service tag.
8. Safety Compliance:
o Ensure that all equipment meets safety standards before being placed back into inventory.
o Report any safety concerns to management immediately.
9. Communication:
o Relay important information about equipment condition or customer feedback to the service desk and operations teams.
o Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
10. Training and Support:
o Assist in training new staff on check-in procedures and equipment handling protocols.
o Stay updated on new equipment features and company policies.
Working Conditions:
Physically demanding role requiring lifting and moving equipment.
Work is primarily conducted in a workshop and outdoor environment.
May require overtime during peak rental seasons.
