International car rack and accessory manufacturer is seeking a Warehouse Porter to assist in supporting the distribution department.
PAY RATE:
$20.00 hour
JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Warehouse Porter will facilitate light maintenance and repair, as well as certain janitorial duties in a 200k sq. foot distribution center. Daily duties include shuttling recyclable materials to our material balers, operating a mechanical floor scrubber, watering machine batteries, and general cleaning of the work floor. There will also be facility projects such as patching and painting walls, changing light bulbs, and handling various other maintenance issues as they occur.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Janitorial duties in a 200k sq. ft. distribution center – sweeping, dusting, mopping.
- Daily operation and cleanout of a ride-on floor scrubber.
- Haul, sort, and create bales of recyclable materials – cardboard and plastic
- Haul warehouse garbage to the dumpster.
- Attend to various maintenance issues – light bulbs, painting, battery watering, light plumbing, etc.
- Identify and reconcile safety issues within our facility.
- Use forklift to load bales of recycling materials onto trailers. Use scissor lift to aid in repairs.
- Work as a part of our safety culture.
- Will be cross-trained to assist in our pick, pack and kitting operations to support as needed.
- Other tasks as directed by a manager.
POSITION REQUIREMENT:
- High School education or equivalent.
- 2+ years forklift operation.
- Experience with maintenance duties – i.e. drywall patching, painting, light plumbing work.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and adjust to changing priorities easily.
- Ability to prioritize a daily list of duties, as well as react to issues as they happen.
- Good communication skills – must be able to articulate material needs to Operations Manager.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and stand all day.
- Some overtime is required at the discretion of the Operations Manager. Mandatory overtime may be required during peak business periods and as required and approved by Manager
