Warehouse Manager – Vista Wine & Spirits
Location: Santee, CA (On-site, 7 AM – 5 PM)
Salary: $90,000 - $140,000 (Based on experience)
Reports to: Controller

Vista Wine & Spirits is the largest alcohol retailer in the United States, managing high-volume warehouse operations that drive the company’s success across national marketplaces. We are seeking a to lead, optimize, and expand our 10,000 square feet warehouse operations, ensuring our logistics and inventory management continue to exceed industry standards.
Position Overview:
The will oversee daily operations, manage staff, and drive initiatives to streamline logistics processes. This role is critical to ensuring smooth inbound and outbound logistics, precise inventory control, and maintaining a safe, high-performing environment. The ideal candidate is a seasoned warehouse operations professional with in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Santee, CA. Remote work is not permitted.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership and Oversight:
Direct and oversee all daily warehouse activities, including
inventory control, order fulfillment, receiving, shipping, and material handlingManage workflows to ensure that
daily ordersare accurately picked, packed, and shipped in alignment with performance benchmarks.
Supervise
20+ warehouse employees(excluding office staff), delegating responsibilities to ensure smooth operations across two facilities.
Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring efficient
delivery schedules, vendor coordination, and shipment accuracyImplement and drive the adoption of
lean practicesto enhance productivity, reduce errors, and optimize workflows.
Team Management and Development:
Lead a team of 20 warehouse staff, fostering accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Conduct training programs, staff performance reviews, and leadership development to enhance skills and productivity.
Manage seasonal workforce fluctuations, ensuring adequate staffing during peak periods.
Collaborate with HR to develop retention strategies and promote engagement across the warehouse team.
Inventory and Equipment Management:
Oversee inventory accuracy, ensuring inventory control systems are maintained, and discrepancies are addressed through regular audits and cycle counts.
Ensure all heavy equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, is maintained, and that employees are certified in their safe operation.
Lead the team to conduct physical inventory counts and audits, overseeing processes but delegating execution.
Strategic and Growth Initiatives:
Contribute to warehouse expansion plans, layout designs, and process optimization for scaling operations.
Lead process improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, supply chain efficiency, and increased throughput.
Implement technology and automation solutions to drive warehouse innovation and increase efficiency.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Experience and Education:
- 10+ years of warehouse/logistics management experience
in high-volume environments.
- Master’s degree
in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (required).
Certifications such as
PMP, Six Sigma, or equivalentin project/operations management are strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in
warehouse management systems (WMS)and ERP platforms, such as ShipHero, Synapse, Dynamics 365, SAP, Zoho, Manhattan, Odoo, and Blue Link.
Hands-on experience with barcode scanners, RFID systems, robotics, and automated warehouse technologies.
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and operational efficiency practices.
Tech-savvy and knowledge about
emerging Ai toolsfor warehouse productivity.
Basic knowledge is reporting/analytics software such as
SQL/Microsoft Access/PowerBi/Tableau
Leadership and Management:
Experience leading teams of 20+ employees in warehouse or logistics settings.
Proven ability to manage seasonal workforce adjustments, large SKU inventories, and high daily order volumes.
Track record of staff development, performance management, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Operational Knowledge:
Proven ability to oversee large-scale warehouse operations with 5,000 picked items.
Knowledge of handling inventory and the specific compliance standards associated with alcohol distribution (preferred but not required).
Experience developing and managing KPIs for order accuracy, on-time shipments, inventory turnover, and overall warehouse efficiency.
Compliance and Safety:
Strong knowledge of OSHA-equivalent safety regulations for warehouse environments.
Experience in designing and enforcing safety programs to prevent accidents and ensure employee well-being.
Soft Skills:
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to manage cross-functional collaboration with sales, procurement, and operations.
Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire, lead, and motivate large teams.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Order Accuracy: Maintain >98% accuracy in order fulfillment.
On-Time Shipments: Ensure that 95% of shipments are processed and shipped within 1-2 business days.
Inventory Turnover: Monitor and improve stock rotation and turnover efficiency.
Operational Efficiency: Lead cost-saving initiatives that result in measurable operational improvements.
Physical and Logistical Environment:
Facility: 10,000 sq ft across two buildings.
Daily management of large SKU inventories with significant picking, packing, and shipping volumes.
Oversee and manage warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: $90,000 - $140,000 (Based on experience and qualifications).
