Position Summary
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Warehouse Manager will be responsible for inventory management, including the development of minimum inventory levels, ordering of parts to support warehouse functions as well as overall management of inbound and outbound shipping and receiving. The candidate will effectively interact and communicate with department heads to ensure accurate coordination of warehouse activities.
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience managing a warehouse and warehouse staff, work well independently, and within a team. They should be well organized and have a strong attention to detail. Must possess the ability to handle multiple competing demands while ensuring deadlines are met will be required for success in this position.
Position Responsibilities
- Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
- Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
- Prepare work orders and submit requisitions for repairs or replacement of equipment.
- Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities are aligned with other functions such as production, sales, inventory control, and purchasing.
- Direct the processing of salvaged parts from damaged or used material.
- Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.
- Review and develop strategies to reduce all slow moving and obsolete inventories.
- Plans and administers continuous inventory audits to support finance in department budgeting.
- Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Manage implementation and maintenance of new technology for fleet and inventory tracking.
- Work closely with Planning and Operational departments to insure cohesive and timely flow of finished goods.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Two (2) years of Logistics/Inventory/Warehouse Management experience is required.
- Must have a high level of competency with inventory systems management and advanced skills in spreadsheets and database experience.
- Experience utilizing SAP system is high preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
- Proven strong diagnostic and decision-making skills are required.
- Ability and willingness to learn and embrace new technology is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook are required.
- Ability to work with a positive attitude in a high stress environment is required.
- Bilingual, English and Spanish, is strongly preferred.
