Direct Hire Warehouse Manager Opening- Norwalk, OH
This is a Salary Role with 3 Direct Reports focusing on SAP software systems, FIFO lean manufacturing practices and is looking for someone with strong Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain, Progressive Logistics Management Experience in a High Volume fast paced lean manufacturing environment. No Sponsorship available for this role and this is an Onsite Role.
Summary
The Warehouse Manager will be a vital part of the Production Control & Logistics Team and is responsible for all warehouse activities. This role will manage the Warehouse Team, processes, procedures, and systems to ensure incoming/outgoing goods are handled correctly with the necessary transactions. The Warehouse Manager must be able to perform all duties as it relates to Warehouse Management (I.e. Shipping, Receiving, Material Movement, etc.). The Warehouse Manager is responsible for movement of inventory, inventory accuracy, and for monitoring and enforcing the FIFO system. This position is responsible for overseeing and directing all shipping/receiving activities as well as computer transactions related to shipping and receiving, including documentation that must be provided to the transportation companies and customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Understand shipping and receiving processes and procedures· Direct, supervise, and train warehouse supervisors and associates in safety, quality, and shipping/receiving methods· Understand, maintain and enforce FIFO throughout all material / finished goods storage areas.· Ensure customer shipping schedules and demands are met and on-time as it relates to shipping / receiving.· Perform timely and accurate SAP transactions to facilitate shipping and receiving activities are performed and completed timely and accurately.· Ensure all processes are followed to assure incoming goods are received in the time allotted and are in usable condition.· Ensure all ASN’s are complete and transmitted on time as required by the customer.· Ensure monitoring and updates are made in the customer portal as required.· Complete, maintain, and update required shipping/receiving documentation· Monitor material handling activities to ensure efficiency and improve process· Ensure forklift inspection logs are maintained and forklifts inspected at proper intervals· Inspect shipping and receiving goods to ensure packaging requirements are maintained· Meet shipping schedules as required· Direct cycle count activities and reconciliation / root cause analysis· Participate and take a lead role in physical inventory activities.· Suggests changes in material flow operations to increase efficiency· Accountable for continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives.· Analyzes and resolves issues related to the team’s performance· Provides direction and example for interpretations and application of company policies and procedures· Works in conjunction with HR Manager and PC&L Manager to carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws· Orients, trains, and evaluates employee performance.· Set team and individual goals and objectives.· Responsible for 5S and housekeeping objectives in the warehouse and outside lot.· Set a positive example in areas of attitude, attendance, and safety practices· Facilitates positive employee relations and work environment· Participates in accident investigations for accidents occurring in the warehouse· Ensure material handlers and other warehouse associates follow proper safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment· Understand and assist in implementing and maintaining ISO14001 and IATF16949 standards and procedures· Develop employees through training and growth opportunities. Ensure training of new employees, retraining of current (if required) and cross train to allow for a flexible team and opportunities for advancement· Develop and form relationships with other teams to ensure continuity, etc.· Perform other duties as required
Education / Experience preferred:· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.· At least 5 years progressive logistics management experience in a high volume, fast paced, Lean Manufacturing environment· Firm understanding of shipping requirements and associated manifesting· Knowledgeable with DOT regulations· Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, and production personnel· Must be able to analyze problems logically and develop plans for resolution· Must be able to prioritize tasks and be organized in approach to planning· Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint), MRP experience and SAP knowledge
